May saw the focus very much on Volvo events as both the Volvo China Open and the Volvo World Match Play Championship saw the eyes of golfing world drawn towards these two prestigious events.
 

The second World Golf Championship event of 2013 co-sanctioned by the European Tour and the USPGA was the Cadillac Championship. This was played over the tough Blue Monster course at Doral in Florida with the winner qualifying for an invitation to the 2014 Volvo Golf Champions. This time round it was won by World Number 1, Tiger Woods, whose 2-shot victory means he has now been victorious in this event an amazing seven times.
 

Despite the long winter in Europe, it seems only a very short time ago that Louis Oosthuizen won the 2013 Volvo Golf Champions in an exciting finish at Durban Country Club, just holding off the challenge of Scott Jamieson and Thongchai Jaidee. Amazingly, it is now over two months ago, and in that time several more important championships have been played on the European Tour and its co-sanctioned WGC events. These have produced an interesting mix of winners, each of whom earns as part of his prize a place alongside Oosthuizen in the 2014 Volvo Golf Champions.
